This video absolutely blew me away… Sure, John Mayer is a great musician, and the artwork for his latest album is gorgeous, but keep watching — after you learn all about the thought that went into it, learn about the craft. David A. Smith has a talent that I can barely comprehend and the skills to match. He specializes in high-quality ornamental hand-crafted reverse glass signs and decorative silvered and gilded mirrors. You have to watch to understand what goes into his art. Grab some popcorn and enjoy!

I Heart Saabs, so it’s no surprise that I was excited to stumble across this chart on their facebook page. It was fun to find the four different models that I’ve owned over the years!

“But I came to realize, some time in 2007, that I was losing my ability to pay deep attention to one thing over a long period of time. When I’d sit down to read a book, for instance, I was only able to sustain my concentration for a page or two. My mind would begin to crave stimulation and distraction — it wanted to click on links, jump from page to page, check email, do some Googling.” So says Nicholas Carr, author of new book, “The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to our Brains” in his interview with cnn.com.
I can relate to Nicholas and his findings — the internet has a profound change on how we approach everything, and even on our basic level of patience. It’s creating a world of instant gratification and even I find myself to be impatient at times. What do you mean we have to wait for it to be shipped? I want in now, with just one click. But, Nicholas also talks about a more simple concept — our ability to concentrate on any one thing for a longer period of time. To lose that ability could change everything. Read the whole article here — it’s worth the read, if you can stay focused that long.
