This fantastic chart of the work of Jessica Hische, a typographer and illustrator working in Brooklyn, NY. Her chart was floating through the world of Facebook when I saw it and read up a little on Jessica and the work she does — long story short, she’s one very talented lady! So, check out her site, and then click on the chart below so you can read all of it (this is just a partial snapshot) — it’s not only educational, it’s also pretty gosh darn funny.

Just read this article on cnn.com and immediately added this to my list of places to visit. Sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor has installed 403 ghostly life-sized human figures made using special cement mix to encourage coral growth. deCaires Taylor told CNN he wanted to “create a monumental artificial reef, a habitat space that would encourage fish to colonize and inhabit the area.” Good for the environment and good for the creative spirit. A haunting sight that I can’t wait to see in person…. I just need to learn to scuba dive first…

I recently purchased this darling new necklace from Blue Dove Studio on Etsy and I just love it! It’s a locket, although I haven’t decided whose picture(s) I am going to put in it yet. But, I thought I should share my beautiful Etsy find. And you should definitely check out ElyIsabel’s shop with all of the other gorgeous handmade jewelry she has for sale. Enjoy your shopping!

Buy a beautiful calendar and support 7 connecticut animal shelters! The calendars are 11.5″ square, with each month featuring a different animal from one of the seven shelters: Forgotten Felines, Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary, Ray of Light Farm, Greener Pastures Rescue, Pet Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Old Lyme Animal Control, and Yesterday’s Kittens. It’s a modern-style calendar printed on individual pages and meant to be clipped and hung on the wall (clips and nails provided).

I’m so excited to share these ties with everyone — they were one of my favorite items that I sold in my gallery. Bethany Shorb hand-screens designs onto ties and the results are eye-catching and beautiful! What a great way to express your own personality, while still fitting in with the dress code. There are way too many designs to show here so check out her Etsy shop!

Found these wonderful fiesta-inspired pieces on Etsy.com today! They’re from Clayswan’s shop and the colors just make me smile. She really sums it up in her Etsy profile, “The work is functional and playful, it is meant to be used, enjoyed … basically, make you happy ~ have fun!” Who wouldn’t want to enjoy eating with these?
