My Nephew’s Wedding at Hammond Castle!

Posted by admin on Jul 15, 2010 in Decorating, Photography, Travel

Wow! When we heard that my nephew had chosen a location above Boston for his wedding we all didn’t understand why — but then we got there…. Just wow! Hammond Castle in Gloucester, Mass is just breathtaking. We drove up and took a short stroll down a flight of stairs and were confronted with a beautiful sight. Hammond Castle was built by John Hays Hammond, Jr. between 1926-29 as a wedding gift for his wife. Not only is it a beautiful setting for a wedding (see the pictures below) it is also a museum worth the tour. I highly recommend making the trip! Visit their website for more information: hammondcastle.org.

Dreaming of Block Island

Posted by admin on Jun 23, 2010 in Photography, Travel

I came across this photo today that we took last summer in Block Island. We had gone out there for a friend’s wedding and it was such a beautiful and memorable weekend. Seeing this photo just sent me back and now I want to schedule that ferry trip! Hope you enjoy this little burst of pink with incredible blue skies….  :)

2010 Shelter Me Calendars are here!!!

Posted by admin on Nov 24, 2009 in Artists, Cats!, Photography, design

Buy a beautiful calendar and support 7 connecticut animal shelters! The calendars are 11.5″ square, with each month featuring a different animal from one of the seven shelters: Forgotten Felines, Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary, Ray of Light Farm, Greener Pastures Rescue, Pet Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Old Lyme Animal Control, and Yesterday’s Kittens. It’s a modern-style calendar printed on individual pages and meant to be clipped and hung on the wall (clips and nails provided).

Visit my Etsy shop to buy one and share this with your friends!!

Aren’t they dear?

Posted by admin on Feb 2, 2009 in Photography

How cute are these deer! With the snowy winter we’ve been having we’ve been trying to help them out with some deer food to snack on. We’re especially worried about one of them who only has three legs because she can’t dig through the snow as well to get to food. They stop by almost every day and it’s just such a special moment! Hope you enjoy…

Bears!

Posted by admin on Jan 19, 2009 in Artists, Great Finds, Photography

This is one of my most favorite books and art projects in general. It’s a project by Kent Rogowski titled “Bears”. He has taken stuffed animals and un-stuffed them, turned them inside out, re-stuffed them and finally photographed them. The result is both comical and sad. Read more about the project at his website:  kentrogowski.com, or buy the book on amazon here.

I wonder how Stephen Colbert would feel about these bears?
